Release Notes
This plug-in is not compatible with Windows 95 or Windows NT. It will work on Windows 98/ME/2000/XP/2003.
Canon Raw files with a .TIF extension may be loaded using the plug-in. Change .TIF loading to "Cerious Plug-in."
EXIF information for most file types will only be available when running ThumbsPlus version 7.0. If you're running 6.0, you should upgrade ThumbsPlus to 7.0 to get the best use of the plug-in.
I don't have any test files for Casio raw files. If you have any, please e-mail some to me (
pcrews@cerious.com), or upload to ftp://ftp.cerious.com/pub/cerious/uploads.
There are two options on Options | File Plug-ins | Digicam Raw Plug-in that will not show up in ThumbsPlus versions prior to 7.0:
Load 16 bits per channel
Rotate based on EXIF orientation
These functions are only available in ThumbsPlus version 7
Version 1.5 includes:
Support for additional cameras from several manufacturers, including newer Konica Minolta Maxxum 7D, newer Canon Powershot and SLRs, including the 20D and 1Ds Mark II, the Nikon D70, and the FujiFilm F700 and S20.
Support for Adobe DNG (Digital NeGative) images.
Much improved color processing for Minolta MRW, Olympus ORF, FujiFilm RAF, Leica RAW, Panasonic RAW, Pentax PEF, and Sony SRF.
Version 1.4 includes:
More EXIF bug fixes, including Exposure Time and EXIF larger than 64KB
The ability to abort an image load
Improved orientation when making thumbnails of D70 NEF files
Updated Nikon libraries
Version 1.2 includes:
Support for additional Canon cameras
Support for additional Nikon cameras
Improved support for Foveon (X3F) images
Support for Panasonic DMC-LC1 Raw files
EXIF information bug fixes
Known limitations:
Some Canon Powershot raw files (G1, G2, S30) are reported in the Info and Thumbnail panes as 640x480x24(RGB) rather than the correct size. They do load at the correct size and color depth (48-bit RGB).
Some Canon Powershot raw files (Pro1, G3 G5, S70) are reported in the Info and Thumbnail panes as 8-bit grayscale rather than 36-bit RGB, and the size may be off slightly. They do load properly as full-resolution 48-bit images.

I haven't listed the model numbers; there are many dozens supported. Camera manufacturers produce new formats very quickly; often the very latest formats will not be supported. We will try to update the plug-in as often as possible to incorporate new formats.
The plug-in will now ignore Kodak DCR and DCS (.TIF) files. If you need DCR and DCS support, please download the Kodak DCR/DCS support:

The Options dialog (Options | File Plug-ins | Digicam Raw plug-in) includes these options:
Load embedded JPEG or thumbnail for.. Select functions for which you wish to use any available embedded thumbnail or JPEG image. This speeds loading for these functions. By default, everything but "viewing" is checked. Note that batch conversions and quick conversions will never use the embedded preview..
Load 16 bits per channel. (Available in ThumbsPlus 7.0 and later only). When viewing, converting, or batch processing, the plug-in will provide 16 bpc (48 bits per pixel) images.
Rotate based on EXIF orientation. (Available in ThumbsPlus 7.0 and later only). ThumbsPlus will automatically rotate the image based on the contents of the EXIF orientation field.
