Verständnisfrage zur D50 bzgl. RAW (mit vielen Links)

Habe jetzt die aktuelle Version von NV drauf und das mit dem Weißabgleich geht immer noch nicht. Also ist da irgendetwas anderes faul. Ich kann das umbenennen auch nicht ganz nachvollziehen, aus einer 97kb JPG Datei wird auf einmal ein Nef. Das müßte doch erheblich größer sein.

Also wenn deine Datei tatsächlich 97kb groß ist, dann ist es mit Sicherheit keine Nef-Datei.

Hier noch einmal der Link zum herunterladen. Einfach rechte Maustaste auf den Link und "Ziel speichern unter ....." wählen.

Also bei mir läuft alles. Nikon View ist Version 6.2.1 bei mir. Und das NEF ist ein NEF.

I have a D70 and my brother have just got a D50. We have taken a lot of shots to compare the detail level with the two cameras. We only use NEFs and share the same lenses, and I must say that the detail level and sharpness is the same with the two cameras - no "silky smooth" look here.

The D50 is just more noisefree.

These testphotos of the colourcharts from Phil's review are taken in jpeg large/fine, so the pictures are influenced by the camera (factory) settings and the in camera processing.

Another flaw in the review comparison is that the test pictures in the review are taken with two different lenses (I don't know why Phil did that) - the d50 is taken with the Nikon 50mm f1.8 lens - and the d70s pictures are taken with the Nikon 50mm f1.4 lens. I don't know the difference at f9

I just bought a D50. I also have a D2X and a D70. So of course I had to compare them!

What I found was that if you shoot JPEG on the D50, they DO do some amount of NR in the camera. If you shoot RAW, there will be a wee bit more noise.

BUT!

If you compare a D50 RAW image with a D70 RAW image, same exposure, ISO, subject, light, whatever, the D50 image is STILL MUCH CLEANER.

It is not as simple as this NR. There is more detail in high ISO D50 images than in D70 or D2X high ISO images. I think this is a good thing. Nikon is moving along.
