Wide-angle lenses
24 mm f/3.5 PC-E ED N Nikkor (wide-angle tilt and shift, DX/FX) ... was ich dann neu kaufen würde...
On the D3, I obtained very sharp and crisp images with vividly saturated colours like with so many other ED-glass designs. ... Sharpness is excellent all the way up to f/16 on the D3 and even f/22 appears to be very useful. Chromatic aberrations are kept well under control. Flare and ghosting are likewise kept low.

105 mm f/2.5 Nikkor (Gauss design)... habe ich noch
The 105/2.5 is a killer combination on the D3. Even set wide open, high-contrast. bitingly sharp images result. At f/2.5, the extreme corners are a little soft, mainly due to field curvature, but at f/4 and beyond the entire frame is crisp and clear. Image quality holds up well to beyond f/16 where diffraction rears its fuzzy head.

55 mm f/3.5 Micro-Nikkor (non-AI, old, compensating type, mid-to-late 1960's)... das auch...
The modified Micro-Nikkor from the mid '60 had much flatter image field than the first version of 1961, and gave close-ups with tremendous sharpness.

85 mm f/2.8 PC-Micro-Nikkor... und das da...
It is a stunning performer on the D2X, yielding images with superb sharpness, high contrast ,and virtually no CA issue. All these nice characteristics continue to be seen on the D3 too.
Und das MF 20mm ist auch nicht so schlecht...
Results on the D3 looked good, only at f/2.8 was vignetting in the extreme corners visible and by f/4-5.6 the frame appears crisp and clear all over. CA seems to be well kept at bay, only a small tinge of blue fringing sometimes occured at specular highlights.
... nur das AF 85 1,8 kommt nicht so gut weg...
This lens is unusual in having focusing carried out by the rear lens group, hence its RF (rear-focusing) designation. RF is a variant of the IF principle that combines features from the floating element approach (CRC) known from wide-angle designs. This helps give the lens good optical quality even up close.
... aber das brauche an FX ja auch gar nicht mehr
Zooms interessieren mich nicht wirklich...
